To be eligible for the COCC Federal Work-Study Employment Program, you must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study as part of your COCC Financial Aid award package.

Work can begin as early as September 22nd (unless carrying over from summer)

NOTE - many supervisors will not be available to contact until September 8th.
Federal Work-Study positions are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis following a successful interview process.
Student Steps to Complete the Work-Study Placement Process

Student signs up for COCCStudentJobs account to be able to search for jobs.

Student finds job they are interested in and makes contact using Contact Information.

Student schedules an interview with contact person/supervisor.

Following interview, if student is offered the position, the student comes to the CAP Center to pick up Work-Study Employment Packet or receives packet from supervisor. This packet includes:

Student completes Work-Study Employment Packet and returns the completed packet to the CAP Center.

CAP Center completes I-9 Form with student.

CAP Center accepts the completed packet, confirms the student's work-study eligibility, distributes copies of forms, and notifies student and supervisor by email that the student is eligible to begin working.
PLEASE NOTE:

Your I-9 form needs to be completed and signed in the presence of CAP Center staff to whom you must verify your identity with a picture driver’s license and social security card OR a valid passport.

A student is not eligible to begin work until all Work-Study Employment Packet forms are completed and the work-study supervisor is notified.
